Administrative Assistant for Special Education

MSAD #53 is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our Special Education Department. This role is essential in ensuring efficient office operations, maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, and supporting staff, students and families.Key responsibilities include providing administrative support to the Special Education Director and team, maintaining accurate and confidential student records and documentation, preparing and distributing reports, correspondence and compliance documents, serving as a point of contact for staff, families, and outside agencies, tracking timelines to ensure compliance with special education regulations, and assisting with data entry and reporting requirements.Start Date: July 1, 2026The Ideal Candidate Would HaveHigh school diploma; associate's or bachelor's degree preferredPrior administrative experience and/or experience in special educationPrior experience with data management systems such as SCMS/GEMcare or EDMS/AcuityStrong organizational, communication, and technology skillsAbilitiy to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlinesKnowledge of confidentiality requirements and professionalism in handling sensitive informationSalary And BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceBenefits PackagePaid time off and holidaysHow To ApplyApplications can be found on our website, www.msad53.org, or by calling 207-487-5107.This position requires fingerprinting through the Maine DOE.
