Shop Mechanic (Forestry Equipment)Job DescriptionCrosstrac Equipment is looking for an experienced Shop Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining forestry and heavy equipment. This position requires strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills, as well as the ability to work independently in a shop environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform diagnostics, maintenance, and repair on forestry equipment (harvesters, forwarders, etc.)Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issuesRepair and rebuild components such as pumps, valves, cylinders, and gearboxesPerform engine diagnostics (Cummins, John Deere, CAT)Work with DEF/SCR and emissions systemsUse diagnostic software and toolsComplete service reports and maintain documentationMaintain a clean and safe work environmentRequirementsExperience working on heavy or forestry equipment preferredStrong knowledge of hydraulic and electrical systemsAbility to read schematics and service manualsExperience with diagnostic tools and softwareStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to work independentlyValid driver’s licenseMust have own toolsPreferred QualificationsExperience with Komatsu, John Deere, or CAT forestry machinesWelding and fabrication experiencePrevious shop experienceWhat We OfferCompetitive pay ($22-30)Full-time positionOpportunity to work on modern forestry equipmentSupportive team environmentComprehensive health benefits (medical, dental)401(k)Overtime opportunitiesPaid time off (PTO)
