This role is pivotal in shaping Consertus’ utilities practice across the East Coast.The ideal candidate will achieve at least 65% utilization by providing specialized services to utility clients. The Regional Utilities Director will oversee staff, client projects, develop and maintain client relationships, and oversee business development activities. The successful candidate will have a strong professional network in assigned region and a technical focus on utility design and construction. This candidate must have a successful track record of leadership, developing and maintaining client relationships, managing complex projects, delivering projects on time and on budget, leading business development activities, and managing a team.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipDefine and execute regional business strategy for utilities engineeringInfluence corporate strategy and represent the region at executive leadership forumsClient GrowthBuild and maintain executive-level relationships with major utility clientsNegotiate and secure contracts and partnerships Ensure client satisfaction and long-term retention through strategic engagementTechnical OversightProvide technical leadership and mentorship to project teamsEnsure delivery excellence across complex utility projectsOversee project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocationEnsure project managers in the department successfully deliver projects on time and on budget by staying informed on projects, monitoring progress, and providing support to mitigate riskTechnical Support construction management activities, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standardsSupport successful delivery and implementation of business-impacting projects Develop and implement process improvements and controls to enhance project efficiencyPrepare and review engineering documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reportsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, software, project management)Manage budgets, timelines, and resource allocationQualifications/RequirementsEducationBachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferredRequired15+ years in the electrical or gas utility or power generation industry, with leadership experience5+ years’ experience in project management or construction management5+ years managing direct reportsTrack record of growing regional operations or business unitsExpertise in power distribution, transmission systems, and utility infrastructureAdvanced proficiency in utility management and asset management consulting servicesFamiliarity with industry codes and standardsDemonstrated strong project management skills with ability to effectively manage collaborative teams with concurrent projects and deadlinesProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint)Working Hours: Full-Time Exempt, Hybrid position, Travel expected 10%.Expected compensation range is between $150,000K- $200,000K annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.What’s In It For YouComprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, and vision)Company-paid life and disability insuranceOptional benefits like pet insurance, legal, and supplemental health plans401(k) with day-one eligibility.
