Dental Practice Manager
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Dental Practice Manager to oversee the daily operations of our dental clinic. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of medical office management, and proficiency with dental-specific software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix. This role is vital in ensuring the smooth functioning of the practice, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations, and delivering exceptional patient care. The Dental Practice Manager will be responsible for managing staff, overseeing financial and administrative functions, and supporting clinical operations within a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Duties
Lead and supervise administrative staff, including medical administrative support and human resources functions
Oversee fiscal management, including budgeting, financial management, and billing processes
Manage clinic operations to ensure efficiency and compliance with HIPAA, JCAHO standards, and other healthcare regulations
Utilize EMR/EHR systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, Epic, eClinicalWorks, and other medical records platforms to maintain accurate patient records
Coordinate with clinical staff to support nursing, acute care, critical care, and hospital experience requirements
Ensure proper utilization management and managed care processes are followed
Oversee medical office procedures related to medical terminology, medical records, and healthcare management protocols
Implement policies for HIPAA compliance and maintain confidentiality of patient information
Manage human resources activities including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and staff development
Monitor clinic workflow to optimize productivity while maintaining high standards of patient care and safety
Qualifications
Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare management within a dental or clinical setting
Strong supervisory skills with previous experience supervising administrative or clinical teams
Proficiency in dental software systems such as Eaglesoft and Dentrix; familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or eClinicalWorks is a plus
Knowledge of fiscal management including budgeting, financial management, billing, and coding practices
Understanding of HIPAA regulations, JCAHO standards, managed care policies, and healthcare compliance requirements
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Background in medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare administration
Experience in office management within a dental clinic or similar healthcare environment is highly desirable
Strong leadership qualities with excellent communication skills to coordinate between clinical staff, patients, and external partners
