On-Site Tire Recycling Plant Operations Lead

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to lead our tire shredding and recycling plant. The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of leadership, operational expertise, and a commitment to sustainability. As an Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the efficient and effective operations of the plant, with a focus on optimizing performance, fostering teamwork, and maintaining a customer-centric approach.Minimum requirements include: Must be a US citizen or Permanent ResidentMinimum 10 years of relevant industry experienceMust have recycling industry or tire handling experience. This is a full time, on site position based in Houston, Texas.Role: Oversees daily facility operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental compliance, while managing staff, equipment maintenance, and material processing. Key responsibilities include optimizing recycling rates, managing budgets, and complying with regulations (OSHA, EPA). Common qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science or engineering, strong leadership, and experience in waste management.ResponsibilitiesOperational Management: Directs daily activities to ensure efficient processing of recyclables, monitoring performance metrics to maximize production.Safety & Compliance: Enforces environmental regulations, local/state/federal compliance, and safety protocols (OSHA).Staff Leadership: Manages staff, including training, scheduling, performance reviews, and fostering a safe working environment.Equipment Maintenance: Oversees maintenance schedules for machinery to minimize downtime and ensure operational readiness.Logistics & Quality Control: Coordinates with suppliers/customers for inbound/outbound materials and ensures quality standards for shredded or processed materials.Administrative Paperwork: Ensure the completion of administrative tasks and paperwork in a timely manner, including production reports, safety documentation, and compliance records.Equipment Proficiency: Demonstrate proficiency in operating equipment such as forklifts and skid steers to facilitate material handling and contribute to operational efficiency.CrossTraining: Implement cross-training initiatives for team members to enhance their skill sets and create a versatile workforce capable of managing various aspects of plant operations.QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or Business, or equivalent experience.Experience: Proven experience in managing recycling, waste management, or manufacturing operations.Technical Knowledge: Understanding of recycling processes, machinery (e.g., shredders, conveyors), and safety practices.Soft Skills: Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Requires working in industrial settings, including outdoor, industrial warehouse environments with exposure to weather elements, noise, and dust.Often involves a mix of on-floor supervision and office-based documentation.May require on-call availability.Must be a US citizen or Permanent Resident.Minimum 10 years of relevant industry experience.Must have recycling industry or tire handling experience.Full time, on site position based in Houston, Texas.J-18808-Ljbffr
