Operations Manager
Your JobGeorgia-Pacific is seeking an Operations Manager to join our Warrenton, GA team. The Operations Manager will be responsible for the operating performance of the log yard, sawmill, kilns, planer, and shipping department at the site, including compliance, environmental, health and safety, operations, and plant culture. The reporting structure could be modified, changed, or expanded depending on skills.Our Warrenton facility is a state-of-the-art lumber mill, offering the opportunity to be part of a high-performing, collaborative team focused on operational excellence and continuous improvement. Conveniently located near several larger cities, the community offers a warm, welcoming feel of rural Georgia, with access to both city and country living options.What You Will DoDevelop, build, and maintain relationships with support resources to ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, human resources, and other policies and proceduresDevelop and execute a profit-driven site plan that leverages capabilities and maximizes division valueDevelop and implement operating systems and work processes consistent with management philosophy and frameworkCoordinate with support functions (EH&S, HR, Accounting) and commercial personnel to ensure plans and resource deployment are aligned with business objectivesImplement continuous improvement strategies that yield sustainable results in quality, recovery, rate, and uptimeCoach, develop, and mentor staff through effective use of continuous feedback and open communicationEnsure all direct reports are properly trained and identify opportunities to strengthen team capability and performanceWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)Five (5) or more years of managerial leadership experience (with direct reports) in a manufacturing facilityPrevious experience developing production goalsProficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)Willing to live or relocate within a one (1) hour drive of the facilityWhat Will Put You AheadBachelor’s degree or higher in business, science, or engineeringExperience with budgeting, forecasting, and P&L statementsFive (5) or more years of leadership experience in a wood products manufacturing environmentEquipment reliability experienceLean manufacturing and continuous improvement experienceAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
