FINGERPRINT TECHNICIAN/ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANTJOB PURPOSEThe Fingerprinting & Administrative Support Specialist is responsible for delivering high‐quality electronic fingerprinting services and providing essential administrative support within a human services agency. This role ensures accurate and compliant biometric processing for background clearances required for foster parents, employees, clients, and community members. The specialist verifies identification, operates fingerprint scanning equipment, maintains detailed records, and upholds strict confidentiality and regulatory standards.In addition to fingerprinting duties, the position provides flexible administrative support, including reception coverage, document processing, scheduling, data entry, and general office assistance when service volume fluctuates.REPORTING RELATIONSHIPThis position reports directly to the Supervisor of SupportEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS* High School Diploma or GED required* Associates degree in business administration or related field, preferred.WORK EXPERIENCEOne year of experience in administrative, customer service, or client intake role requiredExperience with biometric or fingerprinting systems preferredExperience working in a human services or social services environment is a plusSTATUS* Full-time; Non-ExemptQUALIFICATIONSMust maintain strict confidentiality and comply with agency policies and applicable state regulatory requirements related to background checks and biometric processing.Strong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to handle confidential information appropriatelyStrong organizational and time management skillsProficiency in standard office technology and software systems, including but not limited to Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and scheduling systemsAbility to learn and operate electronic fingerprinting systems such as IdentoGo or similar biometric platformsExcellent customer service and communication skills, including interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients, staff, and community members.ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environmentResponsibilitiesPrimary Responsibilities - Fingerprinting ServicesEssential duties include but are not limited to:Conduct electronic fingerprinting services for foster parents, employees, clients, and other individuals requiring background clearancesVerify identification and documentation prior to processing fingerprint submissionsOperate electronic fingerprint scanning equipment and related software systemsEnsure biometric submissions meet required quality standards and rescan fingerprints when necessaryMaintain accurate records and logs of fingerprinting appointments and completed submissionsSchedule and confirm fingerprinting appointments and manage daily appointment flowEnsure compliance with state and federal regulations related to background checks and clearancesMaintain fingerprinting equipment and ensure proper functioning of fingerprinting systemsMaintain appropriate supplies necessary for fingerprinting servicesProvide clear instructions and guidance to clients during the fingerprinting processSecondary Responsibilities - Administrative SupportWhen fingerprinting demand is low or operational needs require, this position will support the Administrative Operations team with general administrative functions.These duties may include:Provide reception or front desk coverage as neededGreet visitors and assist with client check-inAnswer phones and direct calls to appropriate staffAssist with filing, scanning, and document organizationSupport administrative staff with data entry and document processingAssist with mail distribution and document preparationProvide support during high-volume administrative periodsPerform other duties and special projects as assigned based on organizational needsAdditional Duties* Participate in required training related to fingerprinting procedures and equipment* Assist with administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisorPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
