DescriptionHrs of Shift: Day shiftConfirmed payrate: BRSr. Operator/ Operator III, ManufacturingPosition Summary:The Thermo Fisher Scientific West Hills Production Team manufactures medical diagnostic kits that are used by customers in the Transplant Diagnostics market. Our team is dynamic and fast paced, relying on teamwork, multitasking, and communication within the team and the larger organization. This is a production/ manufacturing role in a lab setting. Production staff wear lab coats plus PPE and use bench scale lab equipment - pipettes, thermal cyclers, centrifuges, etc. We are seeking an energetic individual with good communication along with technical and operational skills to join our team. Ability to work day shift is required for this position.Location/Division Specific Information: US - California - West HillsKey Responsibilities:The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Read, understand, and implement written SOPsPerform manufacturing/ production tasks as scheduledHandle and work with biological and chemical reagentsWork with laboratory equipment including but not limited to: UV Spectrophotometer, Thermal Cycler, qPCR, robotic systems, centrifuges, multichannel pipettesWork in a clean room laboratory environment with adherence to CGMP guidelinesReview data and recognize and report data inconsistenciesMay train and assist colleagues on production tasks and proceduresInitiate reports related to production nonconformancesSolve problems related to the production processFollow all safety requirements and escalate issues and concernsOther duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:A combination of education and experience that confer the needed manufacturing, scientific, and laboratory technical skills will be consider such as:High School Diploma/ GED and at least two (2) years of related laboratory experience or 2 years college course work in Biotechnology, Sciences, or other technical field.orBachelor's degree in a technical or scientific fieldAbility to write basic SOPs and other common production documentsAbility to perform basic laboratory calculationsGood working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power PointAble to work critical and shifting timelines while demonstrating a 'can do' attitudeAbility to work overtime and nonstandard work schedules as required to meet production scheduleWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:Frequently work at laboratory workstation, operating equipment, low temperature freezers, and computer workstationsSome lifting of objects including laboratory instrumentation of 35 poundsMay handle sharps such as needles and biologic substances of human and animal originWorking conditions/physical requirements may change as well Skill/Experience/EducationOperator III, ManufacturingContingent Hourly (CWHR)-TEM.CWHR.A00
