We specialize in water, wastewater, and public works construction, partnering with municipalities and public agencies to build and modernize critical infrastructure.Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead a Caltrans culvert replacement project involving multiple scopes including civil, roadway, and utility work.This role requires a hands-on field leader with strong experience in safety, traffic control, and multi-trade coordination, capable of delivering high-quality work while maintaining strict compliance with Caltrans and regulatory standards.The ideal candidate is a field-driven leader who:Has successfully completed Caltrans or similar public works projects; can manage complex, multi-trade scopes simultaneously; prioritizes safety, compliance, and quality; and, is proactive, organized, and decisive under pressureProject ScopeThe Superintendent must have experience managing projects involving:Culvert replacementTree removal and clearingJack and bore operationsEarthwork and gradingPaving (asphalt and/or concrete)Striping and roadway markingsBarrier installation (guardrail, K-rail, etc.)Electrical systems for traffic control (signals, ITS, lighting)Minimum QualificationsExperience10+ years of experience in heavy civil constructionProven experience as a Superintendent on roadway or public works projectsExperience managing multi-scope infrastructure projectsBackground in pipeline, storm drain, or culvert workTraffic Control & PlansExperience with traffic control operations on public roadwaysAbility to read and interpret DOT standard plans and Traffic Control Plans (TCPs)Strong understanding of:Lane closuresDetours and phasingWork zone safety requirementsSWPPP & Environmental ComplianceAbility to ensure proper Experience overseeing SWPPP implementation and complianceinstallation and maintenance of BMPsFamiliar with inspection, documentation, and regulatory requirementsShoring & Equipment ManagementExperience with trench safety systems (shoring, trench boxes, plates, hydraulic shores)Ability to:Plan and manage rental shoring equipmentUnderstand trench depth, soil conditions, and load requirementsCoordinate equipment logistics, delivery, and cost controlSafety & ComplianceStrong working knowledge of:Caltrans safety policies and manualsCal/OSHA regulationsCalifornia Code of Regulations (Title 8)OSHA 30 certification preferred, including:Excavation standards (Subpart P)Confined Space entry proceduresProven ability to:Conduct safety xywuqvp inspectionsWrite safety reportsCoordinate with safety engineers and inspectorsLeadership & CoordinationAbility to supervise multiple crews and subcontractorsStrong skills in:Scheduling and sequencing workProblem-solving in the fieldMaintaining quality and productionEffective communication with:Project ManagersInspectors and engineersPublic agency representativesWork Schedule & AvailabilityMust be able to work Monday–Friday, including:Day shifts and night shiftsWillingness to work weekends as neededFlexibility to meet traffic control and project-driven schedulesSalary: $125 - $150K (based on experience)Why Work With Us?Work on high-profile infrastructure projectsCollaborative team cultureOpportunity to lead quality on complex, large-scale constructionHow to ApplySubmit your resume, relevant project experience, and certifications to:
