If this sounds like you, we should talk.JOB SUMMARYThe Structural Analyst Engineer will participate in the mechanical and structural design of flight hardware and will follow programs through execution of assembly, integration, and test. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and quickly adapting to new challenges.Key Responsibilities:Structural analysis of the spacecraft at the unit-level and system level using hand calcs and finite element analysisProviding recommendations to mechanical design team to improve the spacecraft design for better environmentsGeneration of structural test specifications for components and for customer payloadsConduct mechanical testing of systems and components including vibration testing, static load testing, and shock testingRequired Skills and ExperienceDemonstrated experience with dynamics analysis using Femap/Nastran or similar finite element analysis softwareDeep understanding of structural dynamics (modal analysis, resonance, damping, and random vibration)Familiarity with the launch environment and space environment and how it affects mechanical hardwareFamiliarity with material selectionAbility to work independentlyExcellent technical communications skillsGood written and verbal communications skillsDesired Skills and Experience:Experience defining requirements for mechanical systems and componentsExperience analyzing and testing space hardware with demonstrated on-orbit successDeep understanding of spacecraft structural loads (quasi-static loads, random vibration, shock, thermo-mechanical)Familiarity with Coupled Loads AnalysisExperience running vibration and shock testingPrevious experience working on DoD and other USG development and deployment programsAbility to hold and maintain a USG Security ClearanceEducation & Work Experience:BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Mechanics, or a closely related discipline5+ year relevant experienceCompensation:Annual Base Salary Range: $130,000.00 - $170,000.00/per yearBase pay is one part of our total compensation package (base+bonus+equity) and is determined within a range. Your actual base salary will be determined on job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience. Our benefit plans include medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401k retirement plan, short and long term disability and life insurance. We also offer flexible PTO, along with 11 paid holidays, sick time and paid parental leave.This is a full-time position in San Jose, California. This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.
