System Admin

Overview In this role you will manage and support large IT systems to ensure near-100% availability. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to install, configure, monitor, and secure hardware, software, and networks. You’ll automate routine tasks and implement disaster recovery measures, while educating users and working with vendors on improvements. This position offers hands-on impact on federal IT delivery and system reliability within a security-conscious organization. ResponsibilitiesProvide system operations and administrative support to achieve 99.9% availabilityManage and operate system environment including software, hardware, and network infrastructureDevelop and run scripts to automate administration and maintenancePlan, install, configure, and test PC/server hardware, LAN/WAN networks, and system management toolsMonitor performance, perform tuning, troubleshoot hardware/software/network issues, and coordinate vendor escalationsImplement and test disaster recovery policies, back-ups, and access controlsPrepare users through training and references; support knowledge transferUpgrade systems by coordinating with vendors and testing new softwareMaintain system security and confidential information; document procedures and policiesStay current with knowledge through training, publications, and professional networksAdapt to flexible schedules and collaborate with senior-level clients and teams Key requirementsUS Citizenship required (no dual citizens)Ability to obtain a Public TrustBachelor یا 4 years of additional experience in lieu of degree2+ years IT delivery/operations experience with large US Federal projects2+ years Windows and Linux-based systems experience2+ years OS shell scripting (Bash, sh, ksh, PowerShell)Ability to stay calm and fact-focused in stressful situationsStrong written and oral communication skillsTeam player with ability to work independently and cross-program teamsWillingness to work flexible hours including weekends if neededcalm under pressureclear communicationcustomer-focusedWindows and Linux system administrationOS shell scripting (Bash, sh, ksh, PowerShell)system monitoring and performance tuning
