Outside Sales Representative

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for managing and growing an assigned territory through relationship-driven selling, product expertise, and consistent customer engagement. This role focuses on increasing sales and gross profit by developing new business, expanding existing accounts, and positioning Palmer-Donavin’s products and services as solutions that help customers succeed.This position is field-based and requires daily interaction with customers. You will act as a trusted advisor to your accounts by identifying opportunities, providing product training, and delivering a high level of service. Success in this role is driven by strong follow-through, effective territory management, and the ability to consistently generate and close new opportunities.Key Responsibilities:Manage and grow an assigned territory by developing new business and expanding existing customer relationshipsConduct regular in-person customer visits, including job site and warehouse walkthroughs to identify opportunitiesPromote and introduce new products, including leading product training sessions for customersTrack sales activity, opportunities, and performance using internal systems and reporting toolsFollow up on all customer communication (calls, emails, quotes, issues) in a timely mannerIdentify customer needs and recommend products, programs, and services to support their business growthMaintain accurate pricing, product placement, and stocking strategies within customer accountsCollaborate with Sales Managers and internal teams to execute on opportunities and resolve issuesAnalyze territory performance and adjust strategy to meet or exceed sales and gross profit goalsProspect and onboard new accounts on a consistent basisQualifications:High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required1 – 2 years of Inside and/or Outside Sales experienceExperience in the Building Materials industry or related, preferredQualified applicants must live in or be willing to relocate to the sales territoryRequirements:Satisfactory criminal history checkMotor Vehicle ReportPre-hire drug testSigned non-compete agreementBenefits:Our employee owners enjoy many benefits, such as:Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Up to 112 Hours of PTO in first year401(k) retirement plan with company matchingEmployee discounts on wide range of home building materialsMedical, dental, and vision coverageLife & disability InsuranceParental leaveWellness programOngoing training and developmentAnd much more!
