Job DescriptionSummary of RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated Metrology / 3D Measurement Technician to join our growing team in Zeeland, Michigan.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on technical problem solving, advanced measurement technology, and working on a wide variety of projects across manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, tooling, architecture, facility documentation, and reverse engineering.As part of our team, you will operate advanced metrology and scanning equipment—including portable CMMs, laser trackers, industrial CT scanning systems, and high-volume 3D laser scanners—to deliver accurate dimensional inspection, 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and as-built documentation services.This position plays a critical role in helping our customers solve measurement challenges, improve product quality, validate installations, and document real-world conditions with precision. ResponsibilitiesPerform dimensional inspections using customer drawings, CAD models, and GD&T requirementsOperate metrology equipment including portable CMM arms, laser trackers, 3D scanners, and other precision measurement toolsPerform high-volume 3D laser scanning for plant layouts, facility documentation, as-built capture, and building documentationCollect and process point cloud data for engineering and architectural deliverablesSupport reverse engineering projects using contact and non-contact measurement methodsCreate professional inspection reports, dimensional analysis summaries, and customer deliverablesInterpret engineering drawings, tolerances, datum structures, and inspection criteriaSet up, calibrate, transport, and maintain portable metrology equipmentTravel to customer facilities to perform onsite measurement and scanning projectsAssist with scan-to-CAD, point cloud processing, and as-built documentation workflowsSupport industrial CT scanning projects as neededTroubleshoot dimensional and measurement challenges in manufacturing and field environmentsCommunicate technical findings clearly with customers, engineers, quality teams, and internal staffFollow company quality procedures and documentation standardsAssist with project planning, job setup, and workflow improvements QualificationsRequired Skills & ExperienceExperience in dimensional inspection, metrology, manufacturing, quality inspection, machining, or related technical fieldsAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&TStrong mechanical aptitude and technical problem-solving skillsStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to work independently and manage multiple projectsProfessional communication and customer interaction skillsComfort working in manufacturing, industrial, lab, and field environments Preferred QualificationsExperience with one or more of the following is strongly preferred:PolyWorksFARO ArmsLeica laser tracker systemsIndustrial CT scanningVGStudioPoint cloud processing workflowsReverse engineeringPortable CMM inspectionLaser scanning / LiDAR workflowsSPC / measurement reporting EducationPreferred but not required:Bachelor or Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in:Manufacturing TechnologyMechanical Engineering TechnologyQuality / MetrologyCAD / Engineering TechnologyIndustrial TechnologyEquivalent hands-on experience will absolutely be considered.
