Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Resources & Discovery, Brandeis University - Waltham, MA (Waltham)Brandeis University seeks an Associate University Librarian for Scholarly Resources & Discovery in Library Services. Reporting to the University Librarian, the Associate University Librarian leads a collaborative team, sets strategic direction, develops and executes vision, and manages activities for a major portion of Library Services. The position directly manages regular employees and student workers.Responsibilities include:Lead an innovative staff in developing strategies that support Brandeis University's education and research programs and facilitate worldwide scholarly communication (50 %).Oversee a $4,700,000 resource acquisition budget allocation, acquisition strategies, and facilitate discovery through oversight of library systems and metadata creation; optimize physical and digital collections; manage resource sharing; lead vendor relationships, licensing, and access to growing digital content; build a scholarly communication program; manage preservation of digitized and born-digital materials across their life cycle (20 %).Participate in strategic planning, program development and evaluation, budget formulation, and resource allocation; participate in grants and fundraising and other resource development programs; promote visibility of the Library within and outside Brandeis; develop collaborative relationships with other departments, universities, and organizations; represent the Brandeis Library regionally, nationally, and internationally (20 %).Other duties as required (10 %).The Associate University Librarian is a member of the library's senior management team, participates in strategic planning, program development, evaluation, budget formulation, and resource allocation; participates in grants and fundraising; and promotes the visibility of the Library within and outside Brandeis.
