Project Specialist, Data Operations
Position: Leave of Absence/Ergonomic Specialist Location: Rochester, NY Shift: M-F 40 hours, 8am - 5pm Pay Rate: $21.50 Job Summary Ensures internal procedures regarding employee absences, wage continuation, and tracking of time off are compliant with federal/state laws and company standards. Provides guidance to managers, Safety Representatives, and employees regarding ergonomic safety and workers' compensation, identifying stay at work/return to work initiatives to maximize productivity. Job Responsibilities Acts as the Ergonomic Specialist for corporate and field locations Conducts on-site and telephonic workstation assessments to address discomfort and reduce injury risk Coordinates companywide network of safety representatives including recruitment, recognition, and communication strategy implementation Serves as company champion driving ergonomic and safety initiatives Maintains records of ergonomic discomfort and at-work injuries for safety program improvements Develops and implements strategies to reduce ergonomic discomfort, workers' compensation cases, and absenteeism Enters and maintains accurate LOA data in appropriate databases to ensure compliance with absence management laws Coordinates with IT to restore access for employees returning from leave Generates letters informing employees of their rights and responsibilities under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Assists employees and supervisors with return-to-work placement Initiates ergonomic referrals to accommodate physical restrictions and support return to work Responds to emails, calls, voicemails, and faxes with first call resolution Maintains copies of all communications in employee files Sends manager surveys following employee return to work and analyzes responses Contacts managers requesting follow-up communication Provides guidance to internal and external partners regarding LOA operations, statutory wage confirmations, and leave verification requests Assists in developing reports and tools in partnership with Benefits and HR Initiates test plans for Oracle HRIS system updates Utilizes Business Objects reports to identify updates and coordinate reporting changes with HR systems support Submits weekly membership/eligibility files to disability vendor and ensures report accuracy for wage replacement Monitors legislative changes and industry trends in disability and leave management Maintains absence management communication resources, templates, and intranet materials Oversees Driver Safety Program and other health and safety initiatives Works cross-functionally within wellness and safety teams, including workers' compensation claim processing Demonstrates company values including integrity, service, innovation, accountability, partnership, and respect Job Qualifications Experience in leave of absence management including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and state/federal family leave provisions - Preferred 2 years of experience in welfare benefits or general HR experience - Preferred 1 year of experience in safety and ergonomics - Preferred Strong verbal communication and listening skills Demonstrated analytical skills Demonstrated project management skills Excel, Word, and Oracle experience desired Certified Office Ergonomics Evaluator - 1 year preferred Equal Opportunity Employer.
