Line Cook Toojay's is hiring cooks ASAP at our restaurant in the Treasure Coast Plaza in Vero Beach. Our Line and Deli Cooks take pride in creating classic recipes and flavors of a traditional New York deli. This key role is critical to our success in executing the highest quality food with speed and efficiency. Since 1981 TooJay's New York-style Deli has been a fan favorite. With locations across Florida, we are famous for piled-high sandwiches, hearty portions of homemade comfort foods and made-from-scratch soups, salads and baked goods. Line and Deli Cook Benefits Include: Flexible Schedules 401K (eligibility requirements apply) Discounted Meal Program including catering Training & Career Growth Opportunities Line Cook Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent experience in a full-service restaurant or related field Flexible and long hours required at times Ability to stand during entire shift, exerting up to 50 pounds as needed Must be able to maneuver safely throughout the walk-ins and kitchen during the shift Able to handle and operate safely: microwaves, knives, steam tables, gas range, char broiler, fryers, salamander, convection ovens, meat/bread slicers, check printer, kitchen display system, scales, automatic dishwasher and all chemicals Ability to reach overhead, carry hot catering trays handle hot and cold beverages, bend below the waist crouch and communicate intentions to co-workers Approach all encounters with Guests in a friendly, socially distanced and service-oriented manner Continuously clean high touch points throughout the kitchen Maintain regular schedule in compliance with TooJay's business levels which may vary based on the needs of the restaurant and check list protocols and standards of cleanliness Maintain high standards of personal grooming, including wearing proper uniform and facial mask and gloves when/where if required and as regulate TooJay's Deli is an Equal Opportunity and E-Verify employer
