Controller - Music & Entertainment Production This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader to step into a Controller role within a unique organization operating in a creative, fast-paced environment. The company is known for delivering high-end, large-scale experiences and partners with a range of recognizable brands and venues.You’ll take full ownership of the accounting function while helping bring greater structure, visibility, and insight into the company’s financials. This role oversees a small team and plays a key part in both day-to-day operations and broader financial oversight as the business continues to grow.This role offers a compelling mix of ownership, leadership, and exposure to a dynamic business, along with a collaborative culture and a hybrid schedule based in NYC.ResponsibilitiesPartner with executive leadership to support strategic decision-making, budgeting, and forecastingOversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliationsLead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reportingEstablish, maintain, and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and proceduresPrepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP, providing clear insights into business performanceCoordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party partnersDrive process improvements and system enhancements to increase efficiency and scalability (e.g., ERP systems like NetSuite)Build, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a high-performance environmentExperienceBachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance7-10 years in accounting or finance operationsStrong understanding of GAAP and core accounting principlesProficiency with accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite) and ExcelHighly organized and detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem solvingComfortable operating in fast-paced, high-growth environmentsExperience within events, hospitality, or a creative industry a plusSalary: $140,000 – $155,000 + bonusThe above salary range represents Advice's good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible base compensation range at the time of posting and is not reflective of the total compensation package, which may also include benefits, equity and other non-cash incentives.Please send your resume for immediate consideration to: acook@adviceny.comIf this particular role isn't the ideal fit, please feel free to forward your resume to the email above to explore other available opportunities.
