YMCA Summer Camp

Under the direction of the SACC Director, the Camp Counselor is responsible for working with youth in a wide variety of summer activities that strengthen youth imaginations and stretch their mind, body, and spirit. A successful camp counselor will be enthusiastic and want to spend the summer working with children in an indoor and outdoor camp setting. They must be an advocate for the YMCA Core Values of Caring, Honesty, Responsibility, and Respect. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Organize and lead various small and large group camp activities each week, both independently and with a staff team. Activities may include crafts, nature, songs, games, nature walks, and swimming. Able to follow detailed instructions on documenting child names on attendance sheets. Able to supervise children at all times and follow all required camp policies and procedures. Assist Lead Counselor with the upcoming weekly activity plans for your groups.
