Scanner/Pos CoordinatorThe Scanner serves as the POS Coordinator for the store ensuring proper and accurate pricing and signage is in place.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Monitor all pricing communications and weekly sales flyers from Corporate to ensure any price changes are processed promptly and accuratelyChange signs on display before deploying the price change in the systemVerify invoices of merchandise received in the store to the computer for accurate cost, sale price and percentage of mark-upEnsure every item in the store has a price sign in place reflecting the proper price, except for Meat and Hot Foods departmentAssist Meat and Hot Foods departments with signage when requested or neededWalk the store with handheld scanner to spot-check pricingPrint signs by use of a desk top computer, formatting in the proper dimensions of the displayManually create signs when neededChange or add signs whenever necessaryKeep work area clean, orderly, and free from safety hazardsPunctuality and good attendance in compliance with company policies; ensures work responsibilities are covered during foreseeable absencesPerforms other work-related duties as required to accomplish the objectives of the positionSecondary Duties and Responsibilities:Assist Front End or Customer Service areas when essential functions are complete or if there are long lines of customersAnswer incoming phone calls to the storeOrder office suppliesAdd or change paper in printer, adding machine or other office equipmentReport any equipment malfunctions and/or call for repairAssist manager on duty in other departments when neededMinimum Requirements - Education and/or Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; minimum of 18 years of age; and 6 months to 1 year grocery store experience and/or training.Competencies, Skills and/or Qualifications:Ability to read, write and speak English and Spanish preferredAbility to understand and follow instructions in both English and Spanish preferredExcellent interpersonal skillsGood mathematical skills; Proficient ability to use 10-key adding machineAbility and willingness to effectively present information and respond to questions in one-on-one and small group situations with directors, managers, customers (both internal and external) and the general publicProficient ability to use desk top computer to accomplish essential duties of this positionProficient ability to use fax machine, printer or other office equipmentTakes responsibility for own actionsAbility to work overtime, as necessary, in order to complete assignments or reach goalsAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram formAbility to problem solve when given several variables in different situationsStrong organizational skills with attention to detail and good memory recollectionDemonstrates accuracy and thoroughnessAbility to maintain confidentiality and discretion with a high standard of integrity and reliabilityPhysical Demands:Stand and walkUse fingers and hands to type, handle, or feelReach with hands and armsCarry, lift and/or move signs and necessary departmental supplies and equipmentStoop or bend at the waistTalk and hearAbility to see including close vision and peripheral visionThe employee is frequently required to:Kneel, crouch or bend at the kneesSitUse repetitive motion with hands and armsTwist back and neckThe employee is occasionally required to:Climb two-step ladderBalancePush and pull merchandise in order to complete essential functions of the positionUse sense of smell
