Application Developer – Drupal / Web DevelopmentLocation: RemoteJob Type: Contract 4 months DurationSchedule: Part-time, approximately 15–40 hours per weekProject: Short-term scope of work focused on a website homepage redesign and improvements to site search capabilities.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Application Developer with strong Drupal and web development expertise to support website improvements, including homepage redesign and enhanced site search functionality.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain web applications using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and other relevant web development languages and frameworks.Develop and enhance Drupal-based websites, including front-end development and integration with web hosting environments.Configure, maintain, and optimize Drupal search technologies, including Apache Solr.Manage and update website content, including text, images, multimedia, and other digital assets within Drupal CMS.Ensure website content is consistent, accurate, timely, and aligned with established graphic, usability, and accessibility standards.Implement and maintain WCAG accessibility compliance and ensure appropriate placement of website content and links.Support integration of service-related links to other government departments and external agencies.Apply website security best practices, including SSL/TLS, firewalls, vulnerability monitoring, and malware prevention.Regularly update Drupal software, plugins, themes, and other website components to maintain security and functionality.Troubleshoot website functionality, server configuration, and user-access issues.Work with IT teams and external vendors as needed to resolve technical issues.Required QualificationsStrong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.Hands-on experience with Drupal CMS and Drupal front-end development.Experience with Drupal search technologies, particularly Apache Solr.Experience working with web hosting environments.Knowledge of website security practices and vulnerability prevention.Understanding of WCAG accessibility standards.Experience managing website content and multimedia through Drupal.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
