Role: Sr. COGNOS Developer Location: Rensselaer, New York Duration: 24 Months Job ID: SLG - 19 - 9797 Client: NY StateDescriptionThis resource will work on reporting, analysis and measurements for Adult Protective Services in New York State. This includes needed development of data structures and extractions that are necessary for the continued support of Local Districts of Social Services (LDSSs). Specifically, this resource will work on these areas: 1) update current system generated reports identified through OSC Audit as lacking accurate coding, 2) review and revise all remaining existing system reports for accuracy, 3) refine current caseload data reports to cover on-going cases, 4) add APS data to Commissioner Dashboard, create a Rep Payee report, referral month log, and address a large backlog of LDSS requested monitoring reports related to: case timeliness, completion dates, client needs and demographics, and return clients.Duties Tasks that this position will be handling during the period the position is being requested: Work collaboratively with OREPA and APS staff and participate in business requirement gathering for BI projects. Work with Business Analyst on analysis and logical design. Perform complex SQL coding to facilitate reporting and testing functions. Modeling using IBM Cognos BI Framework Manager and Transformer to support mission critical reporting initiatives including all layers of the model and package development. Securing the Framework Manager and Transformer models for data level, object level and package access security. Create advanced reports using IBM Cognos Analytics 11.2, which include but are not limited to several pages with conditional formatting and joining multiple queries to produce a single dataset for the requested report. Complete testing of all reports, dashboards and analytics in all environments prior to business owner review/approval. Transfer knowledge to other Cognos users creating their own reports in person and using electronic technologies. Provide troubleshooting and end user support and problem resolution.
