House Manager & Family Assistant Location: Menlo Park, CA 94025Employment Type: Part-Time (15-20 Hours a week), with the opportunity to expand to 2530 hours based on mutual fitSchedule: Monday, Wednesday, Friday. With both parents being corporate executives who travel frequently for work, we're looking for someone to be the steady presence in our home so that we can refocus on making the most of our time together as a family.Whether it's snowboarding on the slopes in the winter, enjoying sunny beach vacations, or exploring new destinations together, we love to travel together as a family. Our second home in Virginia is our sanctuarya peaceful retreat where we unwind, kayak on the water, and embrace the slower pace of life.Our two teenage sons, ages 15 and 17, are involved in various sports, and we make it a priority to support them as they grow. Whether it's lacrosse, soccer, cross-country, or track, we're always cheering them on from the sidelines.Despite our active schedules, we strive to create a sense of calm and structure in our home. Our ideal House Manager will keep our home organized, run the day-to-day smoothly, and take care of the little things that would otherwise add mental load to our already busy lives. You connect easily with others, understand emotional cues, and balance independent work with collaborative efforts.Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using digital tools such as Google Calendar, Amazon, and Instacart for scheduling, communication, and managing household systems, ensuring efficiency and ease of coordination.Key Responsibilities Household Organization & Maintenance:Maintain organization systems in closets, storage, pantry, and sports gearReset and tidy rooms daily; maintain overall neatness, ensure home is prepped for cleaning servicesLoad/unload dishwasher, wipe surfaces, vacuum high traffic areasOversee household schedules and calendarsPrepare for family events, holidays, and guest staysPrepare and coordinate donation drop-offs and pick-upsSupport packing/unpacking for travel or seasonal transitionsSupervise or coordinate with service providers (e.g., landscapers, pool maintenance, cleaners)Coordinate with service providers/vendors (e.g., pool maintenance, cleaners, landscapers)Maintain indoor plantsInventory & Errands:Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, and other household suppliesCreate and manage running household supply listsCoordinate grocery orders and household purchases (Instacart, Amazon, etc.)Run errands: grocery shopping, returns, dry cleaning, gift shoppingHandle package pickup, mail sorting, and deliveriesMeal Planning & Preparation:Plan and prep healthy meals/snacks for adults and teens 2-3 days a weekBatch-cook occasional mealsShop for groceries and meal-related itemsClean kitchen post-prep and manage kitchen tidinessLaundry & Linens:Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry (e.g., clothing, bedding, towels)Iron, steam, and prepare outfits as neededManage linens: rotate bedding, refresh towels, restock essentialsKeep laundry areas tidy and well-stocked with suppliesHandle special care for delicates or uniformsPet Care:Feed and walk dogs dailyCoordinate in-person grooming appointmentsOccasionally provide weekend overnight dog-sittingKeep pet supplies stocked and organizedVehicle Management:Schedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers)Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotesOrganize seasonal and holiday decorServe as primary contact for vendorsVendor & Property Oversight:Schedule and supervise service providers (cleaners, contractors, landscapers)Research and coordinate repairs, maintenance, and quotesOrganize seasonal and holiday decor
