Direct Service Professional
Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with disabilities, helping them achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. You will work closely with clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home community care environments. Your commitment to patient monitoring and adherence to care plans will play a crucial role in promoting the well-being of those you serve.
Responsibilities
Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
Monitor and document client progress, ensuring that care plans are followed effectively.
Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment for clients.
Engage clients in recreational activities and community outings to promote social interaction.
Perform heavy lifting as necessary to assist clients with mobility and transfers.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement individualized care strategies.
Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients, adhering to health and safety standards.
Requirements
Valid Drivers License (Required)
Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or home community care is preferred.
Knowledge of patient monitoring techniques and long-term care practices is beneficial.
Ability to lift and assist clients as needed; physical stamina is essential for this role.
Familiarity with developing and following care plans tailored to individual client needs.
A compassionate attitude towards working with people with disabilities is a must.
Cooking skills are a plus for meal preparation tasks.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
