Our Client is seeking a Senior Python Developer to contribute to its enterprise forecasting platform. This platform supports long-term financial projections, enabling strategic planning and decision-making. The role is heavily focused on automation and data integration, working with files generated by upstream systems to streamline workflows and enable seamless system-to-system integration.You will be responsible for developing and enhancing forecasting engine features to improve accuracy, performance, and scalability, while supporting critical quarterly and yearly production runs used in financial reporting.Key Responsibilities:Automate file processing and enable seamless system integration.Refactor and modernize existing components of financial accounting and forecasting applications.Enhance forecasting engine features to improve accuracy, runtime efficiency, and scalability.Support quarterly production runs for financial reporting, ensuring integrity and timeliness.Diagnose and resolve defects, reduce technical debt, and drive continuous improvements.Write clean, robust, high-quality code with strong unit and integration test coverage.Collaborate across data, services, APIs, and infrastructure layers to deliver end-to-end solutions.Partner with FP&A and stakeholders to implement new forecasting capabilities and scenario analysis.Assist with infrastructure upgrades, platform migrations, and adoption of new technologies.Participate in design discussions, code reviews, and documentation.Must-Have Qualifications:5+ years of hands-on Python development experience.Strong knowledge of SQL and relational database development.Experience with Git version control.Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., Pytest).Familiarity with Python data processing libraries (e.g., Pandas).Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Nice-to-Have Qualifications:Experience with Java development.Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Podman, Kubernetes).Proficiency with shell scripting for automation and troubleshooting.Understanding of fixed income concepts (duration, convexity, spread, OAS).Graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.Knowledge of GAAP accounting fundamentals.CFA/FRM/CPA certifications or progress toward them.Experience with Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., JIRA).ScheduleStandard business hours.Approximately 70% coding and 30% design.No production support responsibilities.
