Dental Assistant

Our Dental Assistants assist in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a dentist.Monday - Thursday, 7:30 am - 6:00 pm Work ScheduleIncludes a $750 Signing Bonus!If you have the ambition and desire to work in a friendly and fun environment, LSCC is the place for you!A Day in the Life of a Dental Assistant may look like this:Greet and prepare dental patientsAssist dentists during procedures and maintain instruments and suppliesPerform basic and some moderately complex dental proceduresAssisting in handing instruments and materials to dentists and keep patients' mouths dry and clear by using suction or other devicesSterilize and disinfect instruments and equipmentPrepare trays of instruments for dental procedures and instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health careRecording patients' health historiesTaking and developing x-rays and preparing dental compoundsTaking pouring and trimming dental impressions and seating temporary restorationsWe ask our Dental Assistants to possess a minimum of:High school diploma or GEDActive Texas Dental Assistant LicenseBasic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red CrossThe following experience/skills are preferred:Experience as a Dental Assistant, minimum of one (1) yearProficiency with EMR systemBilingual English/Spanish language skills are a definite plusKey Success FactorsSome key factors that will make an individual successful in this role:The ability to problem solveOrganizational skillsAttention to detailTeam player personalityTime managementBenefitsLSCC offers a competitive benefits package, including:Competitive salary;Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance;LSCC paid Life insurance;LSCC paid Short-Term and Long-Term Disability insurance;Paid Time Off; and403b Employee Retirement Plan
