Duncan Law is committed to providing free consultations, personal attention, reasonable fees, and practical information to clients.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time hybrid role for a Bankruptcy Paralegal/Legal Assistant position at Duncan Law, LLP. The Legal Assistant will be responsible for preparing Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 bankruptcy paperwork, assisting clients via phone and email, preparing motions, interacting with the Court, and reviewing client paperwork. The position requires superior customer service skills, attention to detail, computer proficiency (particularly in Microsoft Office applications), a team player mentality, the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and deadlines, and a willingness to learn.QualificationsMinimum education: Bachelor's DegreeCustomer service experienceSuperior written and oral communication skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to work independently and remotelyParalegal certificate a plus, but not requiredMust be available 8am to 5pm ET, Monday through FridayThis is a production-focused role for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, comfortable with client communication, and able to move cases efficiently from document submission to attorney review.Primary Responsibilities • Review client e-workbook responses and supporting documents; • Enter information into Jubilee bankruptcy software; • Prepare Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 petitions, schedules, and related filing documents; • Communicate with assigned clients about missing documents, next steps, and case status; • Prepare files for attorney review and client signing appointments; • Identify incomplete, inconsistent, or legally sensitive information for attorney review; • Help maintain accurate case status notes and internal deadlines.Ideal Candidate • Has prior bankruptcy, legal assistant, paralegal, or case management experience; • Is highly organized and detail-oriented; • Can communicate professionally and compassionately with clients; • Enjoys completing work efficiently and accurately; • Can manage multiple active files without losing track of deadlines; • Is comfortable learning and using legal software.Key Success Measures • Cases prepared accurately and timely; • Clients receive prompt, clear communication; • Missing information is identified early; • Attorneys receive organized files ready for review; • Case turnaround time improves.BenefitsHourly pay commensurate with experience.
