Medical Assistant - Back Office FloatThe back office float medical assistant will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient populations. The medical assistant is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. ResponsibilitiesPerform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision. Support clinicians and care management teams in chronic disease management and patient treatment. Conduct laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. Take vitals, preferably manual vitals. Communicate and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the public. Assess emergencies and act accordingly. Float between various locations as patient queue demands. Essential SkillsHigh School diploma required. Minimum of 2 years' experience within a clinic or back office healthcare setting. Medical Assistant diploma or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or 3 years' Medical Assistant experience. Phlebotomy experience required. Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Active driver's license required. Ability to take vitals, manual vitals preferred. Knowledge of laboratory quality control requirements. Knowledge of basic medical terminology. Knowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices. Ability to communicate effectively and maintain relationships with patients, employees, and the public. Flexibility to adjust to changing work environments. Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with TriMed EMR preferred. Independent, responsible, and organized. Work EnvironmentThe position is 100% onsite in a medical office setting, requiring the ability to float between locations including Aventura, Causeway, Ives Estates, Skylake, and Miami Beach, FL. The shift is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and every other Saturday from 7:45 am to 12:00 pm, with hours varying between 42.5 hours in Week 1 and 46.75 hours in Week 2. Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Aventura, FL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30000.00 - $40000.00/yr.
