HVAC Controls Engineer

Essential Functions:Providing quality assurance reviews of Mechanical Systems and Building Automation Systems as well as giving feedback on potential problems or improvementsConfirming that designs meet current code requirementsIdentifying any errors/mistakes and redrawing items correctlyImproving the level of detail and accuracy of the plans and specsCoordinating with other disciplines (mepfp, arch, struct., etc) for technical/QC correspondence, emails, and calculationsImproving the HVAC BAS library and specs to fix common errorsCollaborating with team to find best way to improve processesLeading QC fundamental/overview training to keep staff up to date on proceduresMeeting with the design teams to review commentsCreating HVAC templates for general use and adding systems to the BAS libraryEssential Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Functional working knowledge of M/E/P/FP, building automation systems as well as system design and construction processes. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam.Experience in designing Healthcare, Commercial, Higher Education or Laboratory projects.Prior experience with mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC system integration, Building Management Systems, and Air/Water Testing and Balancing disciplines is a plus.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.Excellent Organizational and Communication skills.Proactive and Collaborative team member.Minimum of 10-15 yrs of relevant experience.PE License.
