Production Manager

Job Description
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process and ensuring that production runs smoothly and efficiently. Key duties and responsibilities include:
Production Scheduling: Ensuring that production processes stay within budgets and deadlines.
Productivity: Monitoring the efficiency of manufacturing equipment and tools, and setting productivity goals to increase efficiency while reducing costs.
Resource Management: Ensuring there are enough resources, such as workforce and raw materials, to meet production goals.
Safety Management: Enforcing safety standards to keep the workplace accident-free. This position requires an OSHA Certification and Forklift Certification.
Communication: Regularly updating upper management on production issues and progress.
Performance Evaluation: Assessing the performance of production personnel and machinery to ensure minimal downtime.
Equipment Maintenance: Supervising the department tasked with maintaining production equipment, ensuring timely repairs and minimizing downtime.
Responsibilities
Plan, direct, and coordinate the manufacturing of products in compliance with customer contractual requirements.
Oversee the allocation of personnel, material, and equipment resources to meet production schedules.
Manage production planning and scheduling.
Maximize the efficiency of production lines and ensure effective employment utilization.
Forecast operating costs and direct the preparation of budget requests.
Develop and motivate cost-effective alternatives and improvements to the production process.
Maintain employee safety by creating a safe and efficient working environment.
Organize and direct workflow to satisfy production requirements cost-efficiently.
Work closely with all departments (Sales, Contracts, Purchasing, Process Engineering, Quality, and Test) to analyze and resolve major process and quality issues.
Support plant layout, facility planning, and other assigned projects.
Perform analysis of manufacturing materials and determine optimum control levels.
Interact with customers, including visits, tours, and feedback requests.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Manage 1 - 5 direct exempt supervisory employees.
Manage 40 - 50 indirect subordinate employees in the production department.
Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Minimum of 5 years in operations and managerial positions in electronic manufacturing industries, in both new product introduction (NPI) and volume production environments.
Strong leadership and motivational skills.
Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
