Therapist - Occupational Therapist
Job Description Job Summary: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating and treating patients in accordance with licensure standards. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop patient goals, care plans, and identify barriers to discharge, providing patient-centered education and support throughout their recovery process. Responsibilities:Perform evaluations and deliver treatment methods tailored to the patient's age, diagnosis, symptoms, and physician orders, ensuring documentation meets standards.Educate patients, families, and other parties on therapy procedures, assistive devices, home programs, and health-related topics.Coordinate treatment schedules with healthcare disciplines, ensuring seamless delivery of care.Monitor treatment effectiveness and outcomes, developing new programs as needed to improve patient recovery.Document all relevant patient information, including precautions, orders, and initial plans of care, accurately and thoroughly.Participate in discharge planning with the interdisciplinary team to ensure smooth transition and follow-up care. Qualifications:Possess a valid Occupational Therapist license through the North Dakota State Board of Occupational Therapy.Hold a current NBCOT certification as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L).Have at least 2 years of inpatient and/or outpatient therapy experience.Maintain a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.Obtain and maintain BLS certification through the American Heart Association prior to start date.
