Marketing and Communications Manager

Job Summary:The Marketing and Communications Manager assists in developing and executing a comprehensive marketing and communications plan that strengthens community engagement, elevates the Federation's brand, and drives philanthropic support.This role oversees messaging, storytelling, digital presence, and event promotion, and supports donor communications, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and fundraising goals. The Manager also supervises the Development and Communications Associate.Job Duties and Responsibilities:Marketing and Communications PlanPartner with the CEO and Leadership Team to develop and implement an integrated marketing and communications plan aligned with the Federation's mission and strategic objectives.Use data and analytics to determine effective communication channels and optimize audience engagement.Collaborate with Development to communicate donor impact through compelling reports, narratives, and visual storytelling that strengthen stewardship and solicitation efforts.Brand ManagementOversee and safeguard the Federation's brand identity, ensuring consistent voice and messaging across all platforms.Develop and refine messaging that helps community members understand the Federation's work and inspires philanthropic investment.Digital and Social MediaSupport the Development and Communications Associate's work, which includes regular social media posts and the bi-weekly FedFive email.Create and curate engaging content, including articles, blog posts, graphics, and multimedia assets.Monitor performance metrics and adapt strategies based on data and audience insights.Stay current on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices.Manage and execute email marketing campaigns.In partnership with the CEO and Development and Communications Associate, oversee the organization's website and digital presence.Collaborate with Development to design and implement digital fundraising campaigns, including stewardship and solicitation initiatives.Event MarketingWork with staff and community partners to develop and distribute promotional materials, both print and digital, to maximize event participation and engagement.Communications and Other ResponsibilitiesDevelop and execute comprehensive email marketing strategies.Manage the full lifecycle of the Connections Newsletter, Annual Report, and other print communications.Assist the CEO in drafting press releases, articles, speeches, and other public communications.Cultivate and maintain relationships with media contacts and key stakeholders.Support the CEO in developing and implementing crisis communication strategies.Perform other duties as assigned.Provide oversight and mentorship to the Development and Communications Associate.Education and Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.Minimum of five years of experience in marketing and communications, preferably within a nonprofit organization.Demonstrated experience managing digital platforms, brand strategy, and integrated campaigns.Attributes for SuccessExceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams.Capable of helping turn the strategic plan and vision into actionable projects and deliverables.Sound judgment and practical problem-solving abilities.High level of digital fluency and comfort in leveraging technology, including Canva and AI, to advance organizational goals.Financial acumen, including experience managing budgets.Strong project management skills and attention to detail.Commitment to social impact and community engagement.Familiarity with the St. Paul Jewish community is preferred.Active participation in staff and committee meetings.Regular local travel to meet with community partners.Availability for evening and occasional weekend meetings.Occasional national or international travel.Access to reliable personal transportation.Ability to perform occasional physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, and extended walking.J-18808-Ljbffr
