Then a trained Hospital Magician walks in.Everything shifts. A smile. A laugh. A moment where the child feels like a kid again. That’s what we do at Bring Magic to Kids in Hospitals. And demand is outpacing our ability to reach every child who needs it.Over 8,400 kids were reached last year, but hospitals are asking for more. New cities are within reach. We are building toward national expansion — and this role helps make that possible.THE ROLE
We have started with a rebrand from Open Heart Magic to Bring Magic and are now ready to hire a Brand & Growth Marketing Content Lead for the next phase. This role will build and run the content and marketing engine that drives community growth and public engagement.This is not an entry-level content position - this role requires experience building and running content and marketing systems that produce measurable results. This is a hands-on role that captures real moments, turns them into powerful content, and uses that content to drive volunteer recruitment, donor engagement, and brand awareness.You will need to attend events and conduct interviews, shoot and edit content, build campaigns, manage distribution, and track performance. You will work closely with leadership to shape the voice of Bring Magic and ensure it shows up consistently across every channel.You’ll lead how the system is built and run, from idea to execution to results. Your work will directly impact expanded reach to new patients in hospitals not being seen and new cities for future expansion.RESPONSIBILITIES
Brand Voice & Content Strategy
Work closely with leadership to define and refine brand voice
Develop and manage a content strategy aligned with growth goals
Translate organizational goals into social media and content strategy
Plan and execute campaigns tied to key moments, events, and timed calls to action that drive engagement and growth
Own the editorial calendar and ensure consistency of tone, message, and identity across all materialsSocial Media & Growth
Own and grow Bring Magic’s presence across key platforms
Plan and execute campaigns tied to volunteer recruitment, events, and awareness
Manage day-to-day posting, engagement, and community interaction
Continuously improve performance through testing and iterationContent Creation & Storytelling
Attend Bring Magic programs, trainings, and events to capture real moments and stories
Shoot and edit video and photo content for campaigns and ongoing content
Create compelling written, visual, and video content that reflects the mission and drives action
Build a repeatable system for capturing and producing high-quality content
Develop and oversee the process for sustained storytelling and content productionPlanning, Reporting & Digital
Track performance across content and campaigns and prepare reporting for leadership and the Board of Directors
Adjust strategy based on results and insights
Support digital advertising efforts including Google Ad vendor management and running other targeted and limited digital advertising to source volunteersProduction Environment & Tools
Work within an established in-house content production approach led by the founder and Senior Director of Marketing
Build on an existing foundation of digital marketing and content development to expand reach and engagement
Operate Sony cameras and professional audio equipment to capture high-quality content
Edit and produce content using Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and supporting AI toolsWHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

4+ years of experience in marketing, content, or social media
Experience shooting and editing video content (required)
Strong writing and storytelling ability across formats
Ability to turn real-world moments into compelling content
Experience with analytics and performance trackingCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$70,000 salary (structured as a set compensation for this role)

Hybrid, flexible schedule (Chicago area)
Summer hours on Fridays – Memorial Day through Labor Day

Ability to meet hospital medical requirements, including annual flu vaccination and health screenings, due to occasional work with a hospital partner on site
