Jr. Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) SECRET CLEARANCE REQUIRED Location: Quantico, VA Company: SDA Solutions Position Type: Full-Time Position Overview: SDA Solutions is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our team. This role involves overseeing day-to-day security operations, supporting various security disciplines, and working closely with Project Managers and system security engineers throughout the system life cycle. Key Responsibilities: Security Oversight: Oversee and be accountable for the daily security operations of all information systems (both unclassified and classified). Program Support: Assist in all aspects of the security program to ensure business needs are effectively met. Lifecycle Support: Collaborate with Project Managers (PMs) and system security engineers on all phases of system development. Security Measures: Develop and implement security measures in accordance with ICDs, NISP, Government regulations, and local procedures. Vulnerability Testing: Conduct ongoing vulnerability assessments to verify the functionality and effectiveness of security features and controls. Customer Interaction: Engage with internal and external customers, including Government security officials, to address security matters and provide briefings. Procedure Development: Develop and enforce procedures for handling classified media and equipment, including marking, handling, transportation, sanitizing, and destruction. System Changes: Manage changes to classified system components, including temporary relocations to other classified areas. Incident Reporting: Assist the Information Systems Security Manager in reporting and mitigating security incidents, and initiate corrective measures to prevent future issues. Knowledge Application: Apply a thorough understanding of Automated Information Systems and specific knowledge of Chapter 8 of the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual. Technical Proficiency: Utilize various computer applications and testing tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WASSP, MBSA, Nessus, etc. Certification Support: Demonstrate a strong background in certification and accreditation processes and assist in writing, reviewing, and coordinating system security plans. Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma with 8-10 years of relevant experience, or Bachelor’s Degree (BS/BA) with 2-4 years of relevant experience. Experience: Demonstrated experience in information systems security, including knowledge of security measures and procedures. Familiarity with certification and accreditation processes and ability to work with security plans. Certifications (Preferred): CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or DoD 8570-1 certifications, or actively working towards certification. Skills: Strong understanding of Automated Information Systems and security principles. Proficiency with security tools and applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, WASSP, MBSA, Nessus). Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
