Job Description2026 SUMMER SCHOOL HIGH SCHOOL SPECIAL EDUCATIONRESOURCE TEACHER VACANCIEShttps://forms.gle/kmrwV2F6FeD72eDq9July 6, 2026 - July 31, 2026Professional Development and Orientation: July 1- 2, 2026Qualifications:• Hold Virginia licensure in special education• Knowledge of best practices and experience teaching elementary school students with disabilities• Knowledge of the academic, social and emotional needs of elementary school students with disabilities• Willingness to be part of a team• MUST BE AVAILABLE TO ATTEND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT and ORIENTATION• PREFERENCE GIVEN: To staff who are flexible in the event of reassignment to ESY if the need there is higherExperience:• Experience teaching students with disabilities• Experience with and knowledge of subject matter• Experience supporting students with disabilities in a mainstream classroom• Experience working Summer SchoolResponsibilities Include:• Support students with disabilities who are enrolled in regular education summer programs• Adapt instruction, assignments and curriculum depending on the needs of the students• Provide accommodations and modifications for students as stated in their IEP accommodations page• Collaborate with school staff, student services staff and families to ensure students with disabilities are successful in the Summer School Program• Co-teach in grades K-12 as neededArlington Public Schools is an Equal Opportunity Employer
