b19 has partnered with an established employee-owned renewable energy firm that is seeking an experienced Senior Power Systems Studies Engineer, to support the delivery of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across North America.This position will play a key role in leading advanced system studies, supporting interconnection efforts, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions for large-scale solar PV and BESS projects. Candidates will require prior renewable energy and power systems analysis experience for consideration.Responsibilities:Lead and perform advanced power system studies including short circuit, arc flash, load flow, grounding, harmonic, ampacity, and protective device coordination studiesDesign renewable energy collection systems including cable routing and cable sizingDevelop equipment specifications for PV systems, BESS, transformers, cable management systems, and balance of system componentsBuild and review interconnection and dynamic system models using industry-standard softwareReview engineering deliverables and project documentation for technical accuracy and quality assuranceServe as a technical lead and client point of contact across multiple concurrent projectsPrepare and present technical reports, study results, and engineering recommendationsSupport proposal development, project scoping, budgeting, and scheduling activitiesMentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across project teamsCollaborate on process improvements, engineering standards, and technical best practicesCoordinate engineering activities across multidisciplinary teams to support successful project executionRequirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related fieldEIT certification required - PE License preferred6+ year's industry experience performing power system studies within renewable energy, solar PV, or energy storage projectsStrong experience with ETAP, CDEGS, CYMCAP, DIgSILENT, PowerFactory, Python and similar software toolsExperience working with vendor-provided dynamic modelsStrong understanding of utility interconnection and renewable energy system designExcellent communication and client-facing skillsAbility to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality technical work in a fast-paced environmentIf interested, please apply with an updated resume.
