Position description
The Department of History announces a part time lecturer position for Spring Quarter 2026. We are seeking candidates with robust teaching experience who can contribute to our undergraduate course in Modern Iranian History (History 131D). This is an upper division course with 30-45 students who come from disciplines across campus.
History 131D: Modern Iran (Spring 2026* // Tues & Thurs 3:30-4:50)
The history of Iran from the end of the Safavid Empire in the eighteenth century to the present.
The program will create a pool of candidates and will make selections when the final budget is approved. The salary per course is $8872.13.

Interested applicants must provide a Letter of Application, CV, Sample syllabus of your proposed course, Teaching Statement, Evidence of Teaching Excellence (i.e., course evaluations or teaching evaluation), and two (2) Letters of Recommendation.
Requirements: Ph.D. in History, Near East Studies or related field, teaching experience at the college level and familiarity with or willingness to learn the CANVAS learning platform. Preference for those who can demonstrate evidence of using interactive learning methods for student engagement.
