Working for Unity Hospice is a calling, and the people who answer are filled.The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, hands-on care to patients under the direction and supervision of a Unity Registered Nurse (RN). All care is based on the RN’s comprehensive patient assessment and is delivered according to the patient’s individualized Activities of Daily Living (ADL) Plan of Care, ensuring comfort, dignity, and safety.Schedule: Full-time (36 hours per week), four 9-hour shifts, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Weekend commitment is a minimum of every 3rd weekend (currently every eighth weekend). Includes on-call backup coverage for approximately 10–15 shifts per year and coverage for 1–2 holidays per year.Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesComputer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook)Highly motivated and organized with a strong attention to detail and analytical skills to help solve problems.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgment. Ability to keep up to date with policies, practices, and regulations.Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and capable of dealing with deadline pressures.Comply with all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Unity.Satisfy mandatory training requirements regarding local, state, and federal regulations and/or Unity’s policies and procedures.Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Ability to adjust to frequently changing demands.Essential Job Duties And ResponsibilitiesUnity CNA staff can perform services/support in the following areas as directed by the RN:Activities of Daily LivingRestorative CareSkin CareMobilityNutritional SupportRespiratory Bowel and BladderReinforce TeachingCompanionship and SupportVital SignsReading of CADD pump settingsReport on pain ratingMaintain required competencies and skillsReport any changes in the patient’s condition or family situation immediately to the appropriate member(s) of the interdisciplinary teamPromote and maintain confidentialityShares in providing 24-hour, seven day-a-week coverageRequirementsCompletion of certified nursing assistant programMust be listed on the Wisconsin Nursing Assistant Registry and be eligible to work at state and federally certified facilitiesValid driver’s license, auto insurance, and access to a reliable vehicle
