Generator Technician
Maintenance and Repair:
Maintenance Technician is responsible for overseeing and performing maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on a variety of generators and related equipment. This role requires a highly skilled individual with experience in generator systems, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting. The Lead Generator Maintenance Technician will also be responsible for training and mentoring junior technicians and ensuring all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform regular maintenance and repairs on diesel, natural gas, and propane generators.
Diagnose and troubleshoot generator problems, including electrical and mechanical issues.
Replace and repair components such as engines, alternators, fuel systems, and control systems.
Inspection and Testing:
Conduct routine inspections of generators to ensure they are operating efficiently and safely.
Perform load bank testing and other performance tests to verify generator functionality.
Keep detailed records of all inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures while performing maintenance and repairs.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding generator operation and maintenance.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
Customer Service:
Interact with clients to provide updates on maintenance and repair work.
Address customer concerns and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Provide technical support and advice to clients as needed.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate and detailed maintenance records and service reports.
Prepare and submit work orders, time sheets, and other documentation in a timely manner.
Assist in the development of maintenance schedules and plans.
Qualifications
- Electrical experience
- Automotive diagnostics skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Mechanical troubleshooting abilities
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
- Experience in vehicle maintenance and repair
- Familiarity with generator repair and maintenance
- Ability to work with diesel engines and schematics
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00 per year
