The family has an 11-year-old daughter and a 9-year-old son. Both children have active after-school schedules, and the family values a caregiver who can provide attentive supervision, assist with homework, and facilitate transportation to activities using the city's public transit system. The family currently employs a full-time nanny of nine years but is looking for someone whose skills and availability better align with their evolving lifestyle. A part-time sitter is also engaged to assist with overlapping school pickups for the daughter, ensuring smooth transitions throughout the day. Children: Two children, ages 9 and 11Pets: None Household Staff: bi-weekly cleaning ladyResponsibilitiesManage school pickups for the son from his Lower East Side school and meet the daughter at her bus stop, located either near the family's Chelsea apartment or in Gramercy, depending on her after-school plans Transport children to after-school activities and supervise them until parents return home Assist with homework and provide engaging, supportive care during afternoon hours Prepare meals for the children and occasionally cook larger dinners for the parents Perform all household laundry duties, including washing, folding, ironing, and organization Conduct grocery shopping two to three times per week Run errands including UPS/FedEx drop-offs, returns, and miscellaneous household tasks Perform light cleaning and daily household upkeep, complementing the services of the family's bi-weekly cleaning professional Maintain organization throughout the home, including children's spaces, kitchen, closets, and common areas Help keep household supplies stocked and organized Navigate New York City public transportation efficiently to accommodate the family's dynamic schedule Provide occasional evening support when parents attend work events (flexibility preferred but not required) Communicate effectively with parents regarding schedules, activities, and household needs Ideal Candidate & PersonalityThe ideal candidate is a reliable, organized, and proactive professional with a genuine love for working with school-age children.
