System Engineer
Job Description & Skill Requirement: Electrical Architecture, Power & PDM Systems: • Lead the overall electrical architecture for complete boat platforms• Design and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, harness layouts, grounding, and bonding strategies• Architect, configure, and support PDM (Power Distribution Module)–based power management systems to intelligently distribute, monitor, and protect electrical loads• Define load prioritization, current limits, fault protection, redundancy strategies, and diagnostic behavior using programmable and solid-state power distribution controllers• Transition legacy fuse/relay-based architectures to modern digital and solid-state power distribution solutions where appropriate• Ensure seamless integration of PDM controllers with touchscreen displays, digital switching systems, audio, lighting, and CAN-based networks• Design and manage power distribution for key onboard systems including ballast systems, surf and wake control systems, helm electronics, marine audio systems, lighting systems, and onboard accessory and convenience systems• Specify batteries, charging systems, switching hardware, ECUs, sensors, actuators, and power components to meet performance, durability, and marine compliance requirements Displays, UI/UX & Digital Systems: • Own the integration of touchscreen displays, helm controls, and digital user interfaces• Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on UI/UX development to ensure intuitive, rider-focused experiences• Support display software configuration, feature definition, and system interaction logic• Enable user-facing diagnostics, system status, and power management interfaces utilizing PDM-enabled feedback HW/SW Validation & Compliance:• Lead hardware and software validation activities for electrical and electronic systems• Develop and execute validation plans, test procedures, and acceptance criteria• Troubleshoot and resolve system-level electrical, electronic, and software integration issues• Ensure compliance with NMMA, ABYC, USCG, and other applicable marine standards• Support certification testing, audits, and creation of required technical documentation Marine Audio & Lighting: • Specify, integrate, and validate premium marine audio systems including amplifiers, speakers, subwoofers, DSPs, and zone controls• Design and support interior, exterior, tower, and underwater lighting systems, including RGB and zone-based implementations• Balance performance, reliability, EMI considerations, and user experience in audio and lighting designs Cross-Functional Leadership: • Collaborate closely with mechanical engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, suppliers, and quality teams• Support production launches, field issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across programs
