The Diesel Truck Mechanic role is essential to the daily operations of our terminal and must have previous working knowledge of air brake systems, diesel engine diagnostics using Insite, hydraulic systems, electronic controls, electrical circuitry, schematics, and a basic knowledge of diesel engine repair. Please watch the video job description: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T3C8OsK-Krc Benefits at Parsec: Health Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401(k) Employee assistance program Employee discount Health Savings Account Life insurance Opportunities for advancement Paid time off Tool / Boot Purchase Program Uniforms provided (After probationary period) Diesel Mechanic responsibilities: Follow a checklist of inspection procedures Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment Test drive vehicles to diagnose malfunctions Read and interpret diagnostic test results from diagnostic equipment such as Cummins Insite Raise trucks, and heavy parts or equipment by using hydraulic jacks or hoists Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles Do routine maintenance, such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment and parts Adjust and align wheels, tighten bolts and screws, and attach system components Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment Diesel Mechanic Qualifications: Ability to lift 50lbs Open availability (24/7/365) available to work nights, weekends, and holidays that fall on your rotation. Willingness to work in varying weather conditions Valid Driver’s License Possess personal tools to perform light to medium repair Experience with maintaining heavy equipment in either the Construction, Transportation, or Intermodal Industry Mi-Jack or Taylor Manufacture Brand experience a plus.
