Cyber Security Engineer

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!The Role• Own and champion the enterprise WAF, shaping its strategy, patterns, and standards.• Analyze and tune WAF rules to enhance protective measures for public-facing sites and APIs.• Collaborate with security architecture on long-term WAF strategy, including technology standards and security roadmaps.• Author and maintain runbooks, playbooks, and threat-specific WAF tuning strategies.• Participate in security events and incident response, proposing solutions to prevent reoccurring threats.• Research and evaluate emerging security trends, threats, and technologies.What You'll Need• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline with 6 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.• At least 4 years focused on cybersecurity with a minimum of 2 years managing enterprise WAF.• Expert-level experience architecting, implementing, and operating enterprise WAF solutions.• Deep knowledge of network traffic routing and edge services (e.g., DNS, HTTP/S, CDN/edge routing).• Proven experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring engineering teams.• Proficiency in Python and Terraform.What's On Offer• Competitive annual salary of $122,600 - $204,400.• Flexible paid time off, including generous vacation, holidays, and wellness days.• Eligibility for additional paid time off for various needs such as bereavement, voting, jury duty, and parental leave.• Opportunity to influence and shape enterprise-level security strategy for an industry leader.Apply via Haystack today!
