Staff accountants report directly to the Bank’s Controller and work closely with the Bank’s CFO, Investment Manager, and other members of the Bank’s management team. They also collaborate with departments across the bank to solve problems and provide financial clarity.Staff accountant Is are responsible for maintaining day-to-day accounting records, performing the month-end close process, preparing financial statements, and performing basic data analysis. Staff accountants have the opportunity to participate in thefull financial reporting cycle from posting journal entries and reconciling accounts to assisting with year-end audited financialstatements.Duties & ResponsibilitiesProcess transactions and post daily and month-end journal entriesMaintain prepaid, accrual, fixed asset, and other detailed financial recordsReconcile various general ledger and bank accountsPrepare month-end and year-end financial statements and board reportsPrepare weekly bank regulatory reports for the Federal ReserveAssist with preparing supporting documentation for financial statement auditsProcess quarterly dividend payments, debt interest payments, and assists with shareholder and ESOP-owner transactions and paperworkProcess accounts payable transactionsAnalyze discrepancies, variances, and trends and resolve errors as necessaryPrepare financial reports for bank departments and managersDetail oriented and consistently meets requested deadlinesOther duties as assignedSupervisory RequirementsPersonnel Management: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform theessential functions of this job.
