Repairs, protects and beautifies various interior and exterior surfaces in client facility providing painting and minor carpentry work. The role will assist with ensuring requirements are met within the controlled environment of a Life Science high-end account.What Your Day-to-day Will Look LikeCompletes other various duties related to painting, carpentry, flooring, cabinetry, and related tasks, under the direction of the supervisor and/or designeeUses various wall covering techniques and remedies to complete projectRemoves furniture, equipment, shelving, fixtures, etc. from work areaInstalls and/or repairs drywall and plasterApplies corner beads, tapes, patches, sands, strips, washes and primes surfaces, returns areas to working order when project is completedInspects various damaged surfaces (e.g., plaster, drywall, water-damaged areas, ceiling and wall cracks) for remodellingMust use tools and equipment appropriately while contributing to a safe working environmentEstimating projects and ordering materialsAll other duties and tasks assignedRequired QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent. Prior experience with a pharmaceutical or bio-tech environmentMinimum of 5 years of progressive experience in multiple areas, including maintenance, painting (interiors and exteriors), hanging wall coverings, drywall and plaster finishing, and carpentry, with demonstrated technical skills as a painter/paperhanger, maintenance worker, and carpenterGeneral computer skillsMust have valid driver’s licenseOther RequirementsKnowledge of several technical fields that include a thorough understanding of the techniques and principles and ability to modify or adapt them as neededDepending on location, additional technical skills may be required, such as tile installation, furniture finishing, and framingPhysical RequirementsStand and walk for prolonged periodsPerform overhead work often while balanced standing on a ladderAbility to regularly lift, move, and/or carry up to 10 pounds, frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 poundsBend, kneel, twist and reach to get to areas difficult to access and/or confined areas like closets, crawl spaces, attics, etc.
