We take pride in delighting our customers from initial greeting to install completion and beyond. Job Summary: The Solar Installation Crew Lead the is on-site lead on installation projects. This person oversees the entire installation process, manages the team of installers and electricians to ensure installation is safe and to company standards and specifications. Qualifications Minimum high school diploma or equivalent. 3 or more years’ experience leading installers in the residential solar industry. Work both inside and outside in all temperatures and climate conditions in accordance with Heat Stress procedures. Work around energized electrical equipment. Must be prepared to work irregular shifts and respond to emergency callouts 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. Work with and around hazardous and non-hazardous materials. Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Have ability to discern and respond to verbal and auditory signals. Must be authorized to work in the United States. Requirements: Skills & Abilities Supervise solar installers, technicians, and subcontractors for solar installation projects to ensure compliance with OSHA, safety and company standards and protocols. Estimate materials, equipment, and personnel needed for solar installation projects. Prepare solar installation project proposals, quotes, budgets, or schedules. Plan and coordinate installations of photovoltaic (PV) solar and solar thermal systems to ensure conformance to electrical and building codes. Monitor work of contractors and subcontractors to ensure projects conform to plans, specifications, company standards, schedules, and/or budgets. Treat all clients, coworkers, vendors, and other professional contacts with kindness, courtesy, and respect. Communicate project status periodically or as requested. Ensure 100% customer satisfaction. Inspire and encourage coworkers to excel in their work and to fulfill their professional potential. Assess system performance or functionality at the system, subsystem, and component levels. Provide technical assistance to installers, technicians, or other solar professionals in areas such as solar electric systems, solar thermal systems, electrical systems, and mechanical systems. Pull inventory for each installation job. Pre-assemble job components in the warehouse. Layout and assembly of solar modules / array and mounting hardware. Mechanical/structural mounting of racking, modules and electrical equipment in accordance with codes and standards. Perform routine photovoltaic (PV) system maintenance on modules, arrays, batteries, power conditioning equipment, safety systems, structural systems, weather sealing, or balance of systems equipment. Activate photovoltaic (PV) systems to verify system functionality and conformity to performance expectations. Apply weather sealing to array, building, or support mechanisms. Identify electrical, environmental, and safety hazards associated with photovoltaic (PV) installations. Document completion of completed installation. Clean up of job site. Attend mandatory training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety. Additional duties required as needed. Develop and maintain system architecture, including all piping, instrumentation, or process flow diagrams. Identify means to reduce costs, minimize risks, or increase efficiency of solar installation projects. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistently. Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistently. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time. Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on telephone. Ability to install various insulation materials: 8 to 10 hours per day. Ability to lift heavy materials 30-50 lbs. Ability to withstand the dusty conditions of a construction environment. Must be able to climb ladders and stairs regularly and be comfortable with heights of at least 20 feet and walking on all roof types. Able to work in various weather conditions and in extreme temperatures.
