The ideal candidate will be student-centered, collaborative, highly visible, and dedicated to continuous improvement in academics, operations, and school climate.Primary PurposeAssist the principal in providing leadership and supervision in administering the educational program of the high school campus. Promote a safe and effective learning environment while supporting instructional excellence, student success, staff development, and campus operations.QualificationsMaster's degree from an accredited college or universityValid Texas Mid-Management, Principal, or Principal as Instructional Leader certificateValid Texas teaching certificateMinimum experience as required by district and certification standardsStrong knowledge of curriculum, instruction, school operations, and student management practicesExperience at the secondary level preferredMajor Responsibilities and DutiesAssist in the supervision and evaluation of instructional and support staffSupport implementation of curriculum, instructional best practices, and campus improvement initiativesPromote a positive campus culture focused on high expectations and student successAssist with student discipline, attendance, behavior intervention, and restorative practicesMonitor academic performance and support intervention systems for student achievementAssist with campus safety, security, emergency procedures, and supervision of student activitiesCoordinate and support extracurricular activities, events, and campus operations as assignedCollaborate with counselors, teachers, parents, and district staff to support student needsParticipate in staffing, scheduling, testing coordination, and operational planningUse data to support decision-making and continuous improvement effortsMaintain compliance with district policies, state law, and accountability requirementsDesired CharacteristicsBuild strong relationships with students, staff, and familiesDemonstrate professionalism, visibility, and strong communication skillsMaintain high expectations while supporting students and staffAre organized, proactive, and solution-orientedValue teamwork, accountability, and continuous growthLead with integrity, consistency, and a heart for serviceWork EnvironmentThe assistant principal works in a fast-paced secondary school environment involving frequent interaction with students, staff, parents, and community members.
