You'll be hands-on in designing, programming, implementing, and optimizing control and MES systems—while mentoring junior engineers and guiding teams through complex automation challenges.Key Responsibilities:Demonstrates knowledge and implementation of Business Intelligence systems; i.e. Wonderware System Platform, Inductive Automation, Dashboard programming, etc.Database Development and Design.SQL Query Optimization.Data Modeling and Database Administration.Troubleshooting and Debugging SQL Code and stored procedures.Proficiency in SQL Programming.Strong Knowledge of Database Management Systems (DBMS)Data Analysis and Reporting.Demonstrates knowledge and implementation of design strategies for enterprise databases, data warehouse systems, and multidimensional networks. Set standards for database operations, programming, query processes, and security. Model, design, and construct large relational databases or data warehouses.Identify changes in scope and notify Project Manager in a timely mannerAssist in the design of control systems (I/O and Motor lists, P&IDs, etc.)Develop approaches to solve problems, handle customer demands, changes and complaintsGuide less experienced employees technicallyContribute a broad technical competence to the team, along with superior communication, correspondence, and mediation skillsAssist in managing project's resources, schedule, budget and scopeProvides input and resolves issues during the Estimating and Fabrication processesCreate Functional Requirements Specification documents with the corresponding FAT and SAT plansDevelop MES systems and procedures for customers to help meet their needs.Design and develop database structures and systems to integrate into control and process systems.This position will require about 50% travel, both domestic and international.Education and Experience:BS Degree in Engineering or equivalent in Automation experience plus ten years of experienceMultiple Major Automation Provider Certifications or Professional EngineerSoft Skills: Leadership TrainingAbility to lead teamsCommunicationDemonstrate mastery of Automation programming softwareRead and modify electrical schematics, PFDs and P&IDsStrong communications skills and ability to incorporate high performance teams of diverse individuals· Can set the direction for an entire project teamExcellent customer service skills with a proven record of high client satisfactionRequires only periodic direction from the Project ManagerDemonstrate strong communication with colleagues, management and customersCompletes tasks on schedule Complies with the rules, procedures and policies as delivered by the organizationGet the appropriate colleague, manager or customer involved to resolve issues early on in the development processHard Skills: RS LogixWonderware System PlatformRockwell FactoryTalk View StudioOSHANEC / UL 508AVFD Setup (A-B, Yaskawa, Mitsubishi, etc.)AutoCADSolve problems and learn quicklyProvide technical competence during project executionHelp in the design and implementation of control systemsMore About UsCates Control Systems was founded over 40 years ago and is an award-winning systems integration company that partners with manufacturing firms to develop and implement automation solutions to increase production, improve quality and reduce costs.
