SUMMARY
Schedules appointments, gives information to callers, takes dictation, and otherwise relieves officials of clerical work and minor administrative and business detail by performing the following duties. This is a 40 hour per week, 52 weeks position.
LOCATION
Levelland Campus
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reads and routes incoming mail. Locates and attaches appropriate file to correspondence to be answered by employer.
Composes and types routine correspondence.
Organizes and maintains file system, and files correspondence and other records.
Answers and screens Director of Physical Plant telephone calls, and arranges conference calls.
Coordinates Director of Physical Plant schedule and makes appointments.
Greets scheduled visitors and conducts to appropriate area or person.
Arranges and coordinates travel schedules and reservations.
Enters and maintains work orders for Physical Plant.
Daily manages and reviews timeclock information for Physical Plant Employees.
Makes copies of correspondence or other printed materials.
Prepares outgoing mail and correspondence, including e-mail and faxes.
Orders and maintains supplies, and arranges for equipment maintenance.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Word required. Strong familiarity with other Microsoft Office applications is a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to students, faculty, and other employees of the college.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Qualifications
Valid Texas Drivers License
High School Diploma/ College Diploma preferred
2 years Administrative Assistant Experience
