Linux Engineer
Job Title: Linux/Unix AdminLocation: Columbia, SC Partial Onsite: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Onsite and as neededDuration: 11+ months Note:Credit Check must be processed during pre-screens.C2 Eligibility is Required- Need USC onlyInterviews: Round 2Hours: Core business hours are between 7am – 6pm. On-call, overtime (when approved) and some weekend work.About the team: The Unix Operations team consists of a group of approx. 11 technicians. The group handles operational availability and various system changes. This team also performs various maintenance activities which would include HW/SW maintenance, security vulnerability management, and project support. The team is very collaborative and highly motivated.Required Technologies:Red Hat Enterprise LinuxEnterprise Infrastructure management experienceAnsible ExperienceScripting languages (i.e Bash, Perl, Yaml).Nice To Have:AIX experienceSolaris ExperienceIT Vulnerability ManagementSecurity and ComplianceRequired Software and Other Tools:Strong understanding of relevant server hardware and software.Required Skills and Abilities:Advanced technical knowledge of server, communications, and related hardware and software. Strong understanding of technical problems and solutions in relation to the current, as well as the future business environment. Proficiency with server technologies and platforms. Excellent problem analysis of server systems. Able to gather information, analyze information and troubleshoot various server problems. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical issues with non-technical people. Strong customer service skills. Strong knowledge of common server analysis, monitoring and security utilities.Preferred Skills and Abilities:RAID Storage experience and solid network experience related to custom server configurations.Work Environment:Fast paced, multi-platformed environment which may require action and response 24X7 to support the technical business needs of the customer.Required Education:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degree. or 4 years of job related work experience or 2 years of job related experience plus an associate’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or other job related degreePreferred Licenses and Certificates: Comptia A+, Network +, Security +
