Field Crew Leader Install - Indirect

PURPOSEAt BFS, the Field Crew Leader is a reliable mentor, who oversees the smooth, efficient, and correct performance of a construction crew(s), while maintaining and upholding commitment to the continuous quality improvement process.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESOversee the day-to-day activities of the crew.Determine wages for crew members and fills out timecards for their crew.Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.Assign duties and maintain time and production records.Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of crew.Train team members in proper procedures and techniques.Read and understand plans.Ensure that installations are completed per specifications.Operate tools, equipment and machinery as required.Perform activities of workers supervised.Demonstrate a commitment to the quality improvement process and the philosophy of continuous improvement.Identify and respond actively and with sensitivity to the needs of all customers.Participate as a team player in all phases of the organization.Open and responsive to change.Personally provide customers with knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt service at all times.Comply with all Company policies and procedures.Adhere to the Company's safety standards and enforce safety regulations.Other duties as assigned.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises an assigned crew and assists in performance evaluations, hiring processes, termination processes, and enforces disciplinary action when needed.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.At least 2 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.COMPETENCIESBasic mathematical skillsAbility to compute, rate, ratio, and percentage data to draw and interpret bar graphsAbility to calculate yard and footagesAbility to solve practical problemsAbility to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals. Technical procedures, or governmental regulationsAbility to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general publicDeal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization existsMay require a Driver's license, OSHA Safety Training, and trade certificationWORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL ACTIVITYThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
